In acknowledgment of its dedication to providing Coachella Valley residents with great patient care and outstanding service, Desert Regional Medical Center has received one of Tenet’s highest recognitions - the 2004 Circle of Excellence Award.
This prestigious award is bestowed as a recognition of the teamwork, collaboration and cooperation that it takes to operate a successful hospital. The criteria includes the hospital’s four and five star status for patient satisfaction, performance by the administrative team, financial performance and proven success in conquering difficult challenges. Desert Regional Medical Center is one of only four Tenet hospitals in the State of California to receive this award.
“Hospitals are more than beautiful buildings and advanced technology. It is the physicians, the staff and volunteers who commit themselves everyday to providing high quality medical care that makes the difference - THAT is the foundation of our facility,” said Truman Gates, chief executive officer at Desert Regional Medical Center.
In years past, the award was given to hospital leadership, namely Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and Chief Nursing Officers. This year, Tenet decided to give the Circle of Excellence Award to entire hospitals, rather than individuals, who have made advancements in patient care and service.
“In these challenging times for healthcare, it takes every member on our team of professionals to play a role in the facility’s success and therefore they should and do share equally in this special recognition,” adds Gates.
This is the second year Desert Regional Medical Center has received this award. To learn more about the services at Desert Regional Medical Center visit www.DesertMedCtr.com or call (760) 323-6690.
