The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center is participating in national research program called I-ELCAP (International Early Lung Cancer Action Program). This screening study is seeking to detect lung cancer early in high-risk patients. If you are age 50 and older, currently smoke or have smoked, and have no personal history of cancer, you may be eligible to enroll in the program. Participants receive a low-dose computerized tomography (CT scan) screening exam. This type of scan is able to detect tiny spots on the lungs possibly years before they would show up on a regular chest X-ray. To find out if you qualify, call (760) 416-4873.
