Our Emergency Services at Desert Regional Medical Center provide a wide-range of emergency medical care from the treatment of minor illness and injury to true emergencies and life-threatening trauma cases. For your convenience and peace of mind, Desert Regional Medical Center Emergency Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whenever you visit our Emergency Department, we provide a skilled staff of physicians and nurses to care for you and direct you to the appropriate emergency care area:
You may be directed to the 24-hour Emergency Room for any potentially life-threatening condition such as:
- Chest Pain
- Shortness of Breath
- A Sick Child under six months of age
- Abdominal Pain
- Pregnancy-related Problem
- Vaginal Bleeding
- Psychiatric Problem
- Change in Vision
- Altered Level of Consciousness/Confusion
You may be directed to MedExpress, our urgent care area located near our Emergency Department for minor emergencies, such as sprains, minor lacerations, simple fractures, colds or flu. Although we are available to offer care for minor emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week through our Emergency Department, you may find MedExpress, our urgent care, more convenient. MedExpress is open 24 hours 7 days a week with a dedicated staff on hand to serve you.
For the most serious injuries, Desert Regional Medical Center is the Coachella Valley's only designated trauma center. Our 24-hour Level II Richards Emergency Trauma Center is staffed by dedicated trauma surgeons using some of the most advanced technology available.
