Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation at Desert Regional Medical Center provides services for the adult population.
Goal:
To start rehabilitation as soon as possible to help you reach your highest level of ability.
Problems:
• Weakness on one side of your body (Hemiparesis)
• Loss of speech (Aphasia)
• Cognitive deficits
• Difficulty swallowing
• Inability to do daily activities i.e. showering/
bathing/dressing
• Speech or language problems
• Long or short-term memory loss
Program Focus:
• Intensive Therapy (Physical therapy, Occupational
therapy, Speech/Language/Pathology)
• Weekly gait training clinic
• Individualized discharge planning
• Equipment needs assessment
• Patient & family/caregiver education
• Community re-entry activities
